Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Mid-Level Concept Artist to collaborate with our dynamic team in the gaming industry. In this role, you will collaborate with game designers, art directors, and other artists to bring imaginative worlds, characters, and creatures to life. Your creativity and visual storytelling skills will be essential in shaping the visual direction of our projects. As a Mid-Level Concept Artist, you will play a crucial role in the early stages of game development, translating concepts and ideas into visually stunning art that drives gameplay and narrative. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the visual elements align with the game's vision and mechanics. Your artistic insight will help establish the overall aesthetic, mood, and tone of the game.

Performance Metrics

Concept Artist will be measured according to the metric below, on a six (6) score rating scale:

• On-time delivery of tasks and time management
• Proactive communication of delays and bottlenecks
• Delivery of work according to project specifications and requirements
• Delivery of work according to the studio's quality standards as specified by the discipline lead
• Following instructions and adhering to best practice
• Time-track daily with a written status update of your task
  • Daily update on tasks and time-tracking
• Improve skills and apply learning from one task to the next

Job Skills

Concept Artist will possess the following competencies:

• Visual Communication Fundamentals
  • Production-ready
• Design Thinking and Problem Solving
  • Photoshop (Or equivalent industry standard image editing software)
    • Production-ready
  • Blender or equivalent industry standard 3D software as part of a concept workflow
    • Production-ready
  • Subject Matter Expertise (At least 2 of: Character, Environment, Creature, Prop, Mechanical)
    • Production-ready
  • Game asset pipeline understanding
    • Production-ready

Additional Skills

Every Concept Artist must also demonstrate at least one (1) additional competency at production-ready proficiency:

• Pre-Visualization / Visual Development
• Illustration
• UI Design
• Unreal Engine 5
• Stylized art

Note: This role is offered on a freelance/contract basis with expectations defined by agreed scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
