Position Overview: The Construction Laborer plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations on construction sites. This position involves performing a variety of physical tasks to assist in the building and completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up equipment, and unloading materials. Ensure that the site is clean and organized throughout the project.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment around the worksite. Assist skilled workers in handling materials as needed.
• Perform basic construction tasks, including digging trenches, backfilling excavations, compacting earth, and leveling ground surfaces.
• Operate basic construction tools and machinery, such as jackhammers, compactors, drills, and other hand and power tools. Assist in setting up scaffolding or ladders.
• Provide assistance to carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled workers by handing them tools, materials, and performing routine tasks under their supervision.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Report unsafe conditions or hazards to the site supervisor immediately.
• Assist with demolition tasks, including removing old structures, breaking up concrete, and safely disposing of debris.
• Measure and mark areas for construction work, ensuring accuracy in cuts, alignment, and layouts.
• Maintain tools and equipment by cleaning them after use and storing them properly. Assist with regular site clean-up and maintenance to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Should have a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles
• Effectively communicate (orally and in writing) in English, with good comprehension
• Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam Revu & Procore

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• OSHA 10 Hour Certification a plus (will be required to become OSHA 30 certified)
• Commercial construction safety knowledge / training

Work Environment:

This position generally requires 8 hours a day. The workweek is Monday-Friday and occasionally on weekends/nights depending on the project. This position is based out of our Denver office, but the incumbent would be required to work on jobsites throughout the greater Denver metropolitan area as well as Colorado Springs. In addition, the position sometimes (0-20%) requires travel. This position requires work in the outdoors in all types of weather. It requires walking, standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods, at times in confined spaces. Work occurs on ladders, scaffolds, and other above ground locations. Employees may be exposed to dust, fumes, noise, and unpleasant variation in temperature. Work requires lifting and carrying heavy objects. Some positions require working around chemicals and caustic compounds. ACS will provide all necessary personal protective equipment to keep you safe.
