By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.Design and procure tooling and fixtures for laser welding applications.Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and weldability of components.Conduct material characterization and weldability studies to support process development.Train production personnel on laser welding equipment operation and process control.Maintain and troubleshoot laser welding equipment, including preventative maintenance.Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.Recommended QualificationsBachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and applications within a manufacturing environment.Proven expertise in laser weld parameter development, optimization, and troubleshooting for various material types.Strong understanding of metallurgical principles related to laser welding, including defect analysis and material characterization.Experience with CAD software and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.Bonus QualificationsExperience with fiber laser welding systems.Familiarity with robotic welding integration and programming.Knowledge of metallurgy and material science related to welding.Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Experience with vision systems for weld inspection or guidance.Job Titles That Should ApplyLaser Welding Engineer, Weld Engineer, Welding Engineer, Laser Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer - Laser Welding, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Welding, Process Engineer - Laser Welding, Robotics Welding Engineer, Automation Engineer - Welding, Materials Engineer - WeldingWhy The Pivot Group NetworkThe Pivot Group Network was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
