About the Role: At Shirley's Auto Body, we run a busy, high-volume shop, and we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Automotive Technician who is ready to step up as a leader on the floor. We aren't looking for a lube tech who needs their hand held, and we don't care if your ASE certifications are expired. We care about what you can actually do in the bay and how you elevate the team around you.

If you are a seasoned mechanic who can independently knock out heavy line work, suspension, and diagnostics—and you have the natural ability to mentor junior techs and keep the shop flowing smoothly—you will thrive here. What You Will Do:
Leadership & Workflow: Act as the "go-to" mechanical expert in the shop, helping to guide junior technicians, verify complex diagnostics, and ensure repairs are done right the first time.
Independent Repairs: Perform a wide range of automotive and post-collision mechanical repairs, including steering, suspension, heating/cooling, exhaust, and brakes.
Diagnostics: Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend appropriate, safe repair plans.
Quality Control: Ensure all mechanical work meets our high safety and quality standards before the vehicle is returned to the customer.
Efficiency: Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
Experience: 4+ years of professional experience as an auto mechanic/technician
Leadership Material: A self-starter who doesn't need to be micromanaged and is comfortable stepping up to assist the team and lead by example.
Tools: Must possess your own set of professional-grade tools to perform daily tasks.
Driver's License: A valid NY Driver’s License with a clean driving record (required to test drive customer vehicles).
Certifications: ASE certifications are a great bonus, but your actual hands-on experience, problem-solving skills, and work ethic matter most to us. Being able to problem solve is a big thing!
What We Offer:
Competitive Pay: $35.00 to $48.00 per hour, depending on your experience and leadership capabilities.
