Pharmacy Tech
Location: Vinton, Virginia (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract to Perm
Role Overview
This position requires working under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to fill prescriptions, prepare IVs, and handle data entry for billing and reimbursement. The role involves prepackaging medication, assisting in the final prescription check, and managing inventory. The Pharmacy Technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fill prescriptions and prepare IVs under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
- Enter data into the computer system to process prescriptions and obtain reimbursement payments.
- Prepackage medication for dispensing according to established standards and government regulations.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the final checking of filled prescriptions and coordinate timely delivery to customers.
- Support pharmacy management with inventory practices, including receiving and rotating stock, and assisting in physical inventory counts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring equipment is calibrated and functions properly.
Work Schedule
This role follows a rotating schedule with various shifts, including weekends.
Standard Shifts: - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
- 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- 10:00 am - 6:30 pm
- 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Weekend Shifts: Required Qualifications
Certifications: A copy of a valid Pharmacy Technician Certification is required for this position.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20 to $23 per hour.
