RETAIL DESIGNER Position Overview We are seeking a versatile, organized, and hands-on Retail Designer to join our team in Secaucus, New Jersey, conveniently located just 10 minutes from New York Penn Station. This unique role combines creative environmental design with practical execution. As our Retail Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing immersive showroom and brand experiences, designing and prototyping custom fixtures and displays, and overseeing the installation of showroom environments that reflect the Artistic Tile brand. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of spatial design, exceptional organizational skills, and the technical expertise to transform 3D concepts into beautifully executed physical spaces. You enjoy balancing creativity with hands-on problem-solving and are comfortable managing projects from initial concept through final installation. Key Responsibilities - Design & Strategy Conceptualization: Create engaging, consistent in-store displays and layouts that align with the brand’s visual aesthetics and target audience. Space Planning: Design detailed floor plans and 3D renderings to optimize customer flow, engagement, and sales. Atmospheric Design: Select décor and materials to establish the desired mood and brand voice. Visual Communications: Plan for signage and graphics, including the integration of Outside Vendor Collections. Trend Analysis: Stay current on retail design trends and competitor strategies to keep our brand at the forefront of the industry. Project Management & Execution Hands-on Installation: Directly manage and perform the installation of display fixtures (e.g., vanities, sconces, mirrors) to ensure timely and effective showroom updates. Project Oversight: Manage project labor, including contractors and installers, and coordinate with external vendors within project scopes. Administrative Accuracy: Simultaneously enter and track a multitude of purchase orders (POs) and sales orders. Events & Renovations: Lead the design, management, and setup of trade shows and major showroom renovations. Prototyping & Fabrication Technical Drawing: Generate and maintain all CAD drawings, folders, and technical documentation for the Retail Design department. Rapid Prototyping: Utilize Laser Cutter machines, 3D printers, and other fabrication tools to create physical product and fixture prototypes. Collaboration & Compliance Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Marketing, Store Operations, and Management to ensure cohesive design execution. Regulatory Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to safety, building codes, and accessibility (ADA) regulations. Reporting: Present design proposals to cross-functional teams and evaluate design effectiveness based on sales results and customer feedback. Qualifications Experience: Proven experience as a Retail Designer, Interior Designer, or Visual Merchandiser. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field. Technical Proficiency: * Advanced skills in Rhino and Adobe Illustrator. Project Management: Exceptional ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Soft Skills: Strong artistic visualization, spatial reasoning, and excellent presentation skills for communicating ideas to stakeholders. Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality 3D designs and physical executions is required.
