Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an educational recruitment firm, is currently seeking a School Librarian for the 2026-2027 academic year at an independent school in Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities of School Librarian :

• Instruct lower and middle school students on effective use of library resources.
• Cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences that integrate research, technology, creativity, and critical thinking for students.
• Research and evaluate current information technologies that can be successfully implemented into school curriculum.
• Expand and maintain collection of resources that align with student needs, instructional strategies, and school mission.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with innovations in library science and learning technologies.

Requirements of School Librarian:

• Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
• 5+ years of school librarian experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise with library management systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems (LMS).
• U.S. Work Authorization required.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
