Description: Entry-Level Position | Learn, Grow & Build a Career in Veterinary Medicine Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic is looking for a smart, motivated, capable person who wants to learn veterinary medicine from the ground up. Experience is welcome - but it is not required. What matters more to us is who you are: your work ethic, your ability to learn, how you treat people and animals, and whether you want to become genuinely good at what you do. This position is designed for someone interested in growing into a Veterinary Technician role over time. We are looking for someone who doesn't just want a job in a veterinary clinic, but wants to develop skills, take on increasing responsibility, and build a career in veterinary medicine. Our mission is to provide excellent medical care and communication in a Fear Free practice while elevating our team through continual learning and growth. Our culture is built around caring for pets, their people, and each other. We take our work seriously, but we also believe a healthy workplace should be supportive, positive, and enjoyable. We teach each other, help each other, communicate openly, and continually look for ways to improve. We don't expect new team members to know everything. We do expect them to want to learn. Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are someone who: Is intelligent, curious, and a quick learner Takes pride in doing things well Notices what needs to be done and takes initiative Can think critically instead of always waiting to be told the next step Is dependable and follows through Communicates clearly and respectfully Handles feedback with maturity and uses it to improve Can adapt when things get busy or plans change Pays attention to details Wants to understand the why, not just memorize the task Treats clients, patients, and teammates with genuine care Is willing to jump in and help the team - even when the job isn't glamorous Wants to keep learning and taking on new skills Is genuinely interested in progressing into a Veterinary Technician position You do not need previous veterinary experience to have these qualities. We can teach veterinary skills. We're looking for someone who brings the attitude, ability, curiosity, and work ethic that make those skills worth teaching. What You'll Learn You'll start by learning the foundations of working safely and effectively in a veterinary hospital, including: Fear Free patient handling and restraint Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas Assisting veterinary technicians and doctors Patient care and comfort Hospital cleanliness, organization, and infection-control standards Preparing for appointments and procedures Veterinary terminology and basic medical knowledge Laboratory procedures and equipment Efficient hospital and appointment flow Client service and communication How a high-functioning veterinary team works together As your knowledge, judgment, and technical abilities grow, so will your responsibilities. Our goal is to develop the right person - not keep you at the assistant level forever. What Success Looks Like Here The people who thrive at Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic don't need to be perfect. They are engaged. They ask questions. They take notes. They practice. They accept coaching. They look for solutions. They own their mistakes and learn from them. They help their teammates. They care about doing excellent work even when no one is watching. They understand that in veterinary medicine, the little things matter. Most importantly, they want to become better than they were yesterday. This Position May NOT Be Right for You If You're looking for a job where you can simply clock in, complete a list of tasks, and clock out without being challenged to grow. Veterinary medicine can be busy, physical, emotional, messy, and unpredictable. There will be cleaning. There will be bodily fluids. There will be difficult days. There will also be tremendous opportunities to learn, contribute, build relationships, and make a meaningful difference. We invest a lot in teaching our team, so we're looking for someone who wants to invest in themselves, too. Why Start Your Career at Cane Bay? Because we believe great technicians are developed, not simply hired. If you have the potential and the drive, we want to help you build the knowledge, confidence, judgment, and technical skills to become an excellent veterinary professional. If you're bright, hardworking, compassionate, teachable, and excited about a future in veterinary medicine, we'd love to meet you.
