If you're interested in joining a health care system that is changing the face of care and well-being in our community, we encourage you to explore a future with ThedaCare.Benefits, with a whole-person approach to wellness –Lifestyle Engagement e.g. health coaches, relaxation rooms, health focused apps (Wonder, Ripple), mental health supportAccess & Affordability e.g. minimal or zero copays, team member cost sharing premiums, daycareJob Description:The Surgery Scheduler coordinates and schedules inpatient and outpatient surgeries and procedures with anesthesia, team leaders, surgeons, physician offices, and other hospital departments to ensure correct equipment, tools, and time are allocated for procedures.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Schedules requests for surgeries and procedures to accommodate appropriate parties.Demonstrates service skills to provide an exceptional customer service experience.Proactively problem solves access to meet stakeholder needs and optimize resource utilization.Performs administrative tasks related to the surgery/procedure to ensure timely delivery of care, including obtaining or verifying prior authorization or performing patient registration.Addresses patterns of access concern and escalates to appropriate leader or group.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GEDPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistanceJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Infrequent exposure to sharp objects and instrumentsOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shockPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agentsOccasional contact with aggressive and or combative patientsUse of computers throughout the work dayFrequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingersNormally works in climate controlled office environmentFrequent sitting with movement throughout office spacePrimary Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center Appleton with occasional travel to the Critical Access Hospitals.Variable 8 Hour Day Shifts Monday – Friday starting between 0730 & 0830Required skills to include:Medical terminologyEPIC experienceMedical environment background, scheduling experience HIGHLY preferredScheduled Weekly Hours:24Scheduled FTE:0.6Location:ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Appleton - Appleton, WisconsinOvertime Exempt:NoWorker Shift Details:Days
